During an afternoon stroll through one of my favorite local used book shops, Sixth Chamber, I nabbed this bound bundle of inspiration. Jasper Conran: Country is a book born from a year-long exploration of the English countryside. Through gorgeous and personal images of people, interiors, animals, landscapes, and architecture, Jasper Conran manages to describe the country “life as it is lived today, in all its wonderful complexity.” As he explains in the book’s introduction, he has “tried to capture . . . the distinct atmosphere and flavour that permeates country life.” If you thought you loved city living, think again. What you read and see in the pages of this book might have you idealizing the romanticism of the country, instead.
