The Black and White Portrait

There’s just something about the black and white portrait. Color is fine and nice, yes, but the somber elegance of a grayscale close-up is unbeatable. Maybe it’s the classic feel and a sense of a golden age, but that’s not all. The absence of color breeds the closer study of a beautiful face (the bone structure, the curve of the nose, and the emotion behind the eyes). I will never tire of it.
